Your Sleepyhead pyjama is made from 95% certified organic long-staple cotton and 5% spandex — chosen because we wanted natural fibres to remain at the heart of what you spend your nights in. A little care keeps it feeling exactly as it should: soft, substantial, and beautiful.

Before Your First Wear

  • Give your set a gentle wash before slipping into it for the first time. This removes any residue from transit and softens the fabric from the start.

Washing Instructions

  • Machine wash cold with like colours and non-snag items. Cold water protects the organic cotton fibres and maintains the 5% spandex elasticity.
  • Choose a gentle cycle. A delicate programme minimises friction and keeps the fabric surface smooth.
  • Skip the fabric softener. Softeners coat the fibres and reduce breathability over time — the natural softness of the cotton does not need it.
  • Wash with like colours only. Separate darks, lights, and whites to prevent colour transfer.
  • Do not bleach. Chlorine bleach damages organic cotton fibres and degrades the spandex.
  • Use a mild, pH-neutral liquid detergent where possible. Harsh detergents break down natural fibres faster over repeated washing.
Avoid: Hot water, chlorine bleach, fabric softeners, soaking, twisting or wringing. These shorten the life of the fabric and affect how it feels against your skin.

Drying

  • Line dry naturally. Lay flat or hang in a shaded spot — direct sunlight can fade the print and weaken organic fibres over time.
  • If you must use a dryer, use the lowest heat setting only (air-dry or tumble-dry low). High heat causes shrinkage and degrades the spandex permanently.
  • Remove promptly when dry to minimise wrinkles and keep the fabric relaxed and fresh.
Avoid high heat: It causes irreversible shrinkage and loss of elasticity in the spandex. Once damaged by heat, the fabric cannot fully recover.

Ironing & Storage

  • If needed, iron on low heat only. Iron while slightly damp or use a steam setting — this relaxes wrinkles without stressing the fibres.
  • If light pilling appears over time, gently use a fabric shaver or lint comb. This is normal with any jersey fabric.
  • Ensure the garment is completely dry before storing. Fold neatly or hang in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
